Established in 2003, UXPA Cleveland was started to educate, motivate and promote usability throughout Northeast Ohio for individuals interested in, involved in or responsible for websites, applications, software or any other type of user interface where usability is a key to success. It is with that in mind that we assert here in our accessibility statement our commitment to digital accessibility.
UXPA Cleveland is committed to enabling all of our members to be able to effectively access our site. We will make every reasonable effort to ensure that the content produced or sponsored by UXPA Cleveland conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA and is compliant with Section 508 of the Department of Justice's American with Disabilities Act (ADA) Standards for Accessible Design.
UXPA Cleveland is working on incorporating usability features on our digital experiences that will make it easy for members with disabilities, including screen reader users, keyboard-only users, users with low/impaired vision, users who are deaf or hard of hearing, and users who are color blind. We also offer access to an Assistive Technology application developed by eSSENTIAL Accessibility Inc. for members who have trouble typing, gesturing, moving a mouse, or reading. The application is free to download from our digital properties and incorporates tools such as mouse and keyboard replacements, voice recognition, speech enablement, hands-free/touch-free navigation, and more.
Usability affects everyone – whether you’re building or in charge of a website or you are the actual user of the interface. If something is not usable, people simply are not going to use it or be satisfied with the experience. UXPA Cleveland is designed for individuals in many different types of roles who have one very important common goal – making things easier to use for all people.
